ABOUT

Ben Cooper is a filmmaker, editor, and documentary archival producer based in New York City. His editing portfolio includes scripted, nonfiction, and experimental work and has been featured in the American Documentary and Animation Film Festival and New York Latino Film Festival, among others.

Since graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a double-major in film and American history, he has worked as an archival producer, associate producer, researcher, and assistant editor on numerous documentary projects, including from Cabin Creek Films, Jigsaw Productions, Stick Figure Productions, and Story Syndicate, with distribution from HBO, Paramount+, Apple Original Films, and more.

With his partner and creative collaborator, Payton McCarty-Simas, he produces short experimental works under the Egg White Films banner, often focused on inscrutable personalities, long strange trips, and archival rabbit holes. They live on the Upper West Side with their cat, Shirley Jackson. You can find Ben in Riverside Park, Tal Bagel, or (where else?) at the movies.
